DTC clarification on the matter:

However, the DTC said that due to a built-in safety feature, the bus stopped and was put back on the road within two hours of a team joining.

The DTC said, “Electric bus number 2610 indicated a rise in temperature in excess of the specified/design limit and hence the vehicle automatically shut down, due to its built-in safety feature. The DTC employees union said bus number DL 516G D2610, which was from Rohini depot Sector 37, broke down at around 4:00 pm on the day of launch.

CM Kejriwal along with Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot flagged off the fleet and took a short ride of electric bus from Indraprastha depot to Rajghat depot.

Kejriwal also announced three days free ride for passengers in these buses starting Tuesday.
