ACP-2 (Central Noida) said, ‘We came to know about the accident at around 10 pm on Thursday. Yogendra Singh, He said Kumar has been taken into custody.
“He was under the influence of alcohol. During investigation, it was found that just before making the call, Kumar had hit an auto, after which it overturned. The auto driver – Rampal – suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital where he was kept under observation for a few hours,” the ACP said.
He said that after hitting the auto, Kumar tried to escape from the spot in his car, but rammed the vehicle again ciaz Vehicle. “The driver had fainted when he was caught,” the officer said.
Police said no liquor bottle was found from his car even as he is changing his statement frequently. “We are waiting for him to regain consciousness so that we can record his statement,” the ACP said.
Kumar has been booked under Indian Penal Code sections 279 (rash driving), 337 (act endangering life), 338 (causing grievous hurt by endangering life or personal safety of others) and 427 (mischief) has been arrested.
