Drones hit buildings in Russia, several downed on approach to Moscow

Drones caused “minor” damage and no serious injuries to several buildings in Moscow, even as air defense systems destroyed several drones on their approach to the Russian capital, Russian officials said Tuesday.

“All city ​​emergency services are at the scene,” Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on his Telegram messaging channel.

The governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, said on a Telegram channel that several drones were shot down en route to Moscow.

Where did drones come from?

It was not immediately clear who launched the drones. Several Telegram messaging channels in Russia reported that four to 10 drones fired on outskirts of Moscow and in its immediate area.

Sobyanin said some residents were being evacuated.

Russia’s RIA state news agency reported on some residents of a building Moscow’Prosoyuznaya Street in the south of the city is being evacuated.
