‘Don’t know how many girlfriends he has since I left’: Somi Ali opens up about Salman Khan

Mumbai: Actress Somi Ali, who has worked with superstars like Mithun Chakraborty, Suniel Shetty, Saif Ali Khan, Govinda, Sanjay Dutt and others, opened up about her relationship with Salman Khan. The actress, while talking to a leading publication, revealed that her debut film ‘Buland’ with Salman, which went on cold storage, became a ‘metaphor’ for their relationship.

Somi Ali was reportedly in a relationship with the ‘Tiger 3’ actress for almost 8 years. Recently while talking to ETimes, Somi revealed the details of her romantic relationship with Salman and their current equation. He told, ‘I haven’t spoken to Salman in five years. I think it’s healthy to move on. I moved on and he moved on too. I don’t know how many girlfriends he has had since I left in December 1999. I wish them all the best. I know his NGO is doing a wonderful job and I am proud of his Being Human Foundation. Psychologically, it’s healthier for me not to be in touch with him. It’s nice to know she’s in a good place and she’s happy, and that’s all I care about. “

The ‘Mafia’ actress further revealed that her stalled film with the superstar became a metaphor for their relationship. He was quoted by the publication as saying, “Salman had just started his home production and was looking for a leading lady to star with him in a film called ‘Buland’. We went to Kathmandu to shoot. Unfortunately, I was very young and new to the industry and there was some issue with the producers and the film was shelved. So I would say it was a metaphor for our relationship.”

Somi Ali was last seen in the 1997 film ‘Chup’ opposite Jeetendra and Om Puri. She is now associated with women’s rights issues and works towards publicizing the plight of rape and domestic violence victims.
