Dombivli gets Post Office Passport Seva Kendra | Thane News – Times of India

Kalyan: New Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) on Dombivli was virtually inaugurated by the Minister of State for Communications Devusinh Chauhan on Tuesday.
POPSK is the 13th POPSK under the jurisdiction of Dombivli Regional Passport Office Mumbai and is a part of the collaboration between the Ministry of External Affairs and the Department of Posts to improve access to passport related services for citizens.
East, Thane District There was only one passport office in Thane. Kalyan Lok Sabha MP Dr Shrikant Shinde, who took the initiative to start a passport office in Dombivli, said, “In 2017, I managed to get a new passport office sanctioned for Dombivli. Sushma Swaraj But later the project got delayed due to some technical problems related to the office in Dombivali.
Dr Shinde said, “When the project got delayed, many opposition leaders in the city targeted me but I continued my follow-up with the Center and recently when I met Communications Minister Devusinh Chouhan, he asked the new passport office. Related technical issue resolved”.
The new passport office will benefit about 50 lakh citizens of Kalyan-Dombivali, Ulhasnagar, Ambernath, Badlapur and other nearby areas.
