Sharmila believes that she can affect the grand old party’s vote bank in more than 55 constituencies in Telangana
Sharmila, the daughter of former Andhra Pradesh CM and veteran Congress leader YS Rajsekhara Reddy, said Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has not fulfilled any of the promises he made to the people in his nine-year tenure, ANI reported.
She said if her party contests the election, it may risk the Congress’s chances of winning the polls.
Sharmila, whose brother YS Jagan Reddy is the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, believes that she can affect the grand old party’s vote bank in more than 55 constituencies in Telangana.

Telangana Elections 2023: Full List of Congress Candidates
In a press conference held in Hyderabad on Friday, YS Sharmila Reddy confirmed that her party will support Congress to end the ‘corrupt and dictatorial’ rule of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president K. Chandrashekar Rao.
She also based her withdrawal from the assembly elections on the ground that she was the true heir of her father Rajasekhara Reddy’s legacy who aided Congress to rise in power in Andhra Pradesh twice in 2004 and 2009.
She concluded the press conference with a view that she does not want people to consider her candidature one of the reasons for Congress’s defeat in the state.
