DLF Camellias Gurgaon Flooded After 30 Minutes of Rain: Video

Gurgaon experienced significant waterlogging and traffic issues on Wednesday morning following heavy rainfall that disrupted the city’s usual flow. Despite being known for its upscale neighborhoods and high-value properties, including the recently sold ₹100 crore DLF Camellias apartments, the area was left grappling with severe water accumulation.

Waterlogged Roads In Upscale Neighbourhoods

The intense rainfall turned Golf Course Road, a prominent area outside DLF Camellias, into a virtual river. Luxury vehicles navigated through deep water, highlighting the severe drainage issues faced by this affluent locality. The scene was captured in a video shared by Anushri Pawar, a former Meta employee, which quickly went viral on social media.

In her post on X (formerly Twitter), Pawar humorously questioned the situation, ‘What should we call this? River Facing or Sea Facing?’ She highlighted the poor state of roads outside the DLF Camellias and DLF Magnolias, emphasizing that even high-value properties struggle with basic infrastructure issues.

Public Reaction On Gurgaon Waterlogging

The video attracted significant attention on social media, with many users expressing their surprise and frustration. One user pointed out that even the most luxurious gated communities in Gurgaon could not secure an effective drainage system. ‘Some of the country’s richest live here. But gated complexes, no matter how posh, can’t buy you a functional drainage system in Gurgaon.

Another user joked about the city’s recurring waterlogging issues, suggesting that swimming should become a requirement for professionals in Gurgaon. ‘After seeing Gurgaon turn into a water park every monsoon, swimming should be mandatory for corporate jobs in Gurgaon. If you can’t swim to work, you’re probably in the wrong city’ they added.

Previous Incidents And High-Value Properties

This is not the first instance of severe waterlogging in the area. Last month, Golf Course Road had also been submerged, with water levels reaching waist-deep. The Camellias, which had earlier made headlines for selling four super luxury apartments at ₹106.4 crore each, continues to face infrastructure challenges despite its high-profile residents.

Efforts And Future Outlook

As Gurgaon continues to grapple with these issues, there are calls for improved urban planning and drainage solutions. The current situation underscores the need for better infrastructure to match the city’s high-value properties and growing population.

The ongoing challenges highlight a broader issue in Gurgaon, where rapid urbanization has often outpaced the development of essential infrastructure. As the city strives to address these problems, the focus will likely remain on improving drainage systems to prevent future disruptions and enhance living conditions for all residents.
