Bengaluru: After the uproar over his tweet against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Karnataka Congress On Monday, deleting the controversial tweet, issued an apology.
Karnataka Congress party chief DK Shivakumar Said that the tweet by the official Twitter handle of the state Congress expressed regret and was withdrawn.
Shivakumar tweeted, “I have always believed that civil and parliamentary language is a non-negotiable pre-requisite for political discourse. A rude tweet by a novice social media manager via the official Twitter handle of Karnataka Congress is regrettable and has been withdrawn.”

The war of words between the BJP and the Congress ahead of the bypolls ended on Monday as the Congress called the PM a ‘thumb chhap’ (illiterate), besides accusing him of inspiring people to beg.

Tweets were blamed PM Modi for the country’s problems
In a series of tweets on Monday, Congress blamed Modi for the problems the country is facing on the economic front.
Congress tweeted that if the party was in power today, petrol would have been Rs 66 and diesel Rs 55 per litre. It said the tax terrorism of the BJP government which believes in “robbing the common man and feeding the industrialists” has led to unprecedented price rise. The party also challenges PM Modi to a public debate with the former All India Congress Committee President Rahul Gandhi.
