Divorced man abducts, rescues ‘daughter-like’ girl Rajkot News – Times of India

Rajkot: To give custody of his children to their mother, a divorcee and even more troubled Madhya Pradesh resident Manoj Mohania (22) kidnapped a one and a half year old girl from Morbi. The accused Manoj was also from MP and approached Bodel in search of job. Bodel helped him get some work done in his ceramics unit.
“Manoj lived next to Bodel and his family and often played with his daughter.
On July 18, the accused took the child with him but did not return home till late in the night, after which Asha lodged a kidnapping complaint with the Morbi police.
Searches by police teams in various cities of Saurashtra and GIDC went in vain. Later, they traced the location of the accused in Jabal village of Amreli on Saturday evening and took him into custody and recovered the child,” said sources.
“Preliminary investigation reveals that Manoj was recently divorced from his wife and was aggrieved that his wife got the custody of the children including a daughter. He was very fond of Bodel’s child and often saw his own daughter in that girl. So he thought of kidnapping the girl and taking care of her. Whenever Manoj used to go, he used to tell people that she is his daughter.
