New Delhi: The Excise Department in Delhi on Monday (February 28) ordered discontinuation of exemption/rebate/concession on MRP of liquor in the national capital.
The decision comes after people queued up at liquor shops in several areas of Delhi as some outlets offered discounts on various brands of liquor.
The Excise Department, while ordering discontinuation of the exemption, cited inconvenience caused to the local population and problem in maintenance of law and order arising out of the proposals.
The department also warned of action against those giving exemption/rebate/concession on the MRP of liquor in the national capital.
