It was the first time a book mentioned about the traditional sport of Jallikattu or bull taming in Tamil literature. There were reports that Suriya and Vetrimaaran will be joining hands for the project and adapting the book into a film with the same name. Now, recently, at an award function, Vetrimaaran dropped an interesting update about the film.

Vetrimaaran shared, “We have been saying for a long time that the film will come. We will start the film as soon as possible.” At the same event, the producer of the film shared, “Vaadivaasal film will be a recognition for Tamils and there is no change in the fact that Suriya is the actor in Vaadivaasal film. The shooting will begin soon.” Upon hearing the news, fans are once again hoping to see their favourite star on the big screen.

Vaadivaasal is backed by Kalaipuli S Thany of V Creations. As per reports, the film has been shot in a full-fledged manner ever since its official announcement. Reportedly, in an interview previously, the director talked about an expensive sequence in the film which he was doubtful about. The ace filmmaker shared that it would take up to 50-60 days to shoot the expensive sequence and he wondered if he should shoot or avoid it altogether.

Vetrimaaran is generally known for his low-budget films, but with films like Asuran, Vidhuthalai Part 1, Viduthalai Part 2 and now with Vaadivaasal, looks like he is scaling up his films.
