Some of the legendary stars were recently felicitated by the Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Bhagat Koshyari in Mumbai. Chikhaliya shared a picture from the event held at Raj Bhavan on Instagram. In the photo, Chikhaliya, who plays Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s mythological show, is dressed in a beautiful printed saree.
While Shanu wore a kurta-pyjama, Narayan wore a gray formal suit. Jalota wore a silk sherwani and shawl for the ceremony. Chikhlia was honored with the title of Made in India Icon 2021. “Honored by Governor Shri Bhagat Koshyariji along with many dignitaries at Raj Bhavan Mumbai. Udit Narayan ji, Anup Jalota ji, Kumar Sanu ji,” she wrote.
Chikhlia will soon be seen in a mythological series. For this, she is associated with Ramanand Sagar Production after many years. During an interaction with India Today last month, she revealed that she will be playing the role of Maharani Vijaya, mother of Vaishno Devi in the upcoming series, Jai Maa Vaishno Devi. “It’s a 10-episode web series, but they haven’t sold it to any OTT platform yet,” he was quoted as saying.
Chikhaliya, who has been away from the small screen for some time now, is not averse to making a comeback on television after getting good offers. “I want to do something very different from what I played, but still very respectable,” she said. She admitted that she is no longer a fan of Indian television. She feels that the current actors make a ‘joke of performance’. The actress said that the production and sets are good, but the performance is lacking.
Chikhlia was also shooting for a film earlier this year. She will play the role of Guru Mata in the upcoming film Hindutva. Directed by Karan Razdar, the film also stars Ashish Sharma and Sonarika Bhadauria.
