According to the police, the minor lives with her parents and younger brother in a residential cum commercial complex in Dindoli area. The accused, who worked as a guard in a private hospital below the girl’s residence, befriended her by regularly giving her chocolates whenever she went out to play.
Even on Friday afternoon, when she went out to get chocolates, the security guard Sandip Patel (37) resident Umiya Nagar In Dindoli, the minor was lured by chocolates and brought to the hospital room where he raped her.
The minor started crying in shock and fled from the spot. He also informed his parents about the incident and they lodged a complaint with Dindoli police on Saturday.
The girl’s father works in a private company and her mother is a housewife.
The shocked parents reached the hospital after the girl came to know about the incident but Patel already fled from the spot. After this, the parents informed the hospital doctor about the incident and lodged a complaint against Patel with the Dindoli police at around 1 pm on Friday night.
The police registered an offense under various sections of the Indian Penal Code including 354(a)1 (sexual harassment) and the POCSO Act and immediately started investigation. The police identified him from the CCTV footage and nabbed him. They brought him to the police station.
During preliminary interrogation, the police came to know that he is originally from Bihar. Unjha of Mahesana Jila and unmarried and lives with his brother’s family. Police said he was working as a security guard for the past few months.
