The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday appointed Dilip Ghosh as the national vice-president, while MLA Sukanta Majumdar was appointed as Bengal BJP president. Hours earlier, former Union minister Babul Supriyo called state president Dilip Ghosh “partly responsible” for the party’s defeat in the assembly elections.

“His remarks during the election campaign did not match with the culture of Vidyasagar, Rabindranath Tagore and Satyajit Ray, and were inconsistent with the ethos of Bengalis. It had contributed to the party’s downfall in the Bengali psyche,” Supriyo told the news agency. PTI.

Supriyo, a well-known singer, is among the leaders who recently left the BJP to join the TMC. He further said that the inclusion of people in the BJP ahead of the Bengal elections may affect the performance of the party in the elections.

TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh on Saturday said more leaders would join the party in the coming days as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is “just a gas balloon without any ideology”.

“Many BJP leaders are in touch with the TMC leadership. They are not satisfied with the BJP. Babul Supriyo joined today, want to join another tomorrow. This process will continue. Wait and see,” he was quoted as saying years.

TMC’s Rajya Sabha MP Sukhendu Shekhar Ray also reiterated that prominent leaders of various political parties would join the party.
