MumbaiBollywood filmmaker Karan Johar announced his ambitious project ‘Takht’ in 2018. Star-studded actors including big names of the Hindi film industry were to be included in this great creation. Karan had taken Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar for his dream project.
Movie buffs were eagerly waiting for ‘Takht’ as KJo was planning to showcase the Mughal era in the flick. However, the film got delayed due to unknown reasons. There were also speculations that Takht was postponed after Johar made a grand announcement.
Contrary to the rumors doing the rounds on the internet, Karan has not postponed his film. The ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ director confirmed that he will be working on ‘Takht’ after completing ‘Rocky and Rani’s love story’.
Johar told the portal that the team had planned to start work in April 2020 before the pandemic hit the entire world in March. He said that ‘Takht’ requires around thousand people on the sets as it should be set on a grand scale.
The reality TV judge, who will soon be on ‘One Mic Stand’ season two, called ‘Takht’ his ‘passion project’.
Karan Johar To Direct Alia-Ranveer In ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’?
The filmmaker will make his directorial return with the upcoming film featuring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. RaarkPK is being produced under Dharma Productions. The film will also feature Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles.
KJo’s last directorial venture ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ was released in 2016. The romantic drama starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma did well at the box office. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was seen in a special appearance in the film.
