Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions has collaborated with “Zindagi Na Milega Dobara” star Abhay Deol’s Canada-based content creation company, Blisspoint Entertainment and Singapore’s Golden Ratio Films to produce “Pep”, a biopic on the mid-20th century featherweight boxer. Is. Guglielmo Papalio, better known as Willy Pep.
The project was developed by Blisspoint, a company formed two years ago by Deol and Mumbai-based producer Ratan Jinwala. The third partner in the film, set in 1965, Golden Ratio Films had previously produced the French English-language film, ‘The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir’ (2018), which starred Tamil star Dhanush.

According to Variety.com, Pep had an exceptionally long career spanning 26 years and boxing nearly 2,000 rounds as a professional. The film depicts one of Pep’s comebacks, as he finds himself deeply in debt while supporting his half-life wife and a drug-addicted son in a single-family home.
“Band of Brothers” actor James Madio stars in the title role with Keir Gilchrist, who will play Pep’s son, Billy Jr., and Ron Livingston, who plays Pep’s business manager, Bob Kaplan. No female lead has been confirmed yet.
