The former couple ended their 11 years of being together in 2019 and decided to go their separate ways. Through a joint statement, the duo shared the news with their fans and loved ones. In the statement, he had mentioned that the two will remain there for each other with love and respect.
After the news of their separation made headlines, Sahil was accused of having an extramarital affair with Kanika Dhillon, the author of Judgmental Hai Kya. However, Diya never broke her silence on this. Angered by such malicious claims, Sahil had denied the reports and asked people to maintain a certain level of decency before making harsh assumptions.

Diya had told that she suddenly suffered an appendectomy during pregnancy, which was followed by a more serious bacterial infection. However, she said that it could have been life threatening but timely interruption by doctors stopped it. The actress shared that an emergency C-section was performed to bring her baby into the world.
