Dhaakad Box Office Collection Day 8: Kangana Ranaut The starrer has largely failed to secure its position at the Indian box office after failing to impress the audience and bring them to the theatres. Ever since its release with Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 on May 27, the film has been working hard to sustain itself. The film could sell only 20 tickets and collected Rs 4000. The action-flick starring Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta has raked in Rs 50 lakh and raked in around Rs 3 crore. Box Office India’s Twitter handle shared, “#Dhaakad collects 4K today by selling 20 tickets across India. Meanwhile, India’s No.1 Female Star #AliaBhatt’s #GangubaiKathiawadi collected 5.01 cr on 2nd Friday. Pure collection.”

Following the poor performance, the film faced the wrath of distributors as they reduced its screenings, claiming “extremely low audience”. Most of the shows have been replaced by Karthik’s horror-comedy, which is turning houseful. And after the release of Ayushmann Khurrana’s Anek and Tom Cruise’s Top Gun Maverick, Kangana’s film will be difficult.

A Mumbai-based trade critic said on the condition of anonymity that when a film doesn’t record the best occupancy, theater owners often go with films that are getting good reports. “There was a need and demand for ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ from the audience but there was nothing for ‘Dhaakad’,” he added. “Dhaakad” shows have definitely been shelved and canceled at many places, he added.
