Devdutt Padikkal reveals how he met coach Rahul Dravid for the first time

Devdutt Padikkal, Nitish Rana and Chetan Sakariya, selected for Team India for the first time, are happy to have Rahul Dravid as their coach for their first international series.

The three players mentioned during an event ahead of the ODI series against Sri Lanka that they wanted to learn the qualities of Rahul Dravid. Recalling his first meeting with Dravid, Padikkal said on Star Sports event, “We both are from the same school and the first time I met him was during our school sports day where I had to present him a bouquet of flowers. was. There I spoke to him for the first time.”

The 21-year-old left-handed batsman from Karnataka is quite impressed with the humble nature of Rahul Dravid. “Dravid being our coach, you can’t ask for more, and it’s a great feeling to have a mentor like him with you and I hope I can learn a lot from him,” Pallikkal said.

Another left-handed batsman who plays domestic cricket for Delhi, Nitish Rana, is also excited to learn from Dravid. “I have heard that Rahul Dravid as a coach and as a player is one and the same. It would be a great achievement for me if I could bring only a fraction of his patience.

Similarly Chetan Sakariya, a promising fast bowler from Saurashtra, aspires to be as dedicated as Dravid. “I want to know how he was so emotional when teams like Australia and England dominated. I want to understand how he used to trouble them with his batting and how he achieved so much with his dedication.

“I want to know and understand what’s going on in his mind,” Sakaria said.
