Kangana Ranaut has made another blast in Bollywood. On her Instagram stories, Kangana said that ‘no one from the industry appreciates or appreciates’ that Kashmir Files is the first successful and profitable Hindi film in theaters after the pandemic. This statement comes a day after Akshay Kumar lauded Anupam Kher and the team of The Kashmir Files for bringing back a large number of audiences to the theatres.
“The Kashmir Files is the first successful and profitable Hindi film to hit the theaters after the pandemic…. I am telling you all this because the film mafia, their chattikar and their marketable media will not tell you…nobody in the industry appreciates or appreciates it so I am doing my job.”
On Sunday, Akshay had contacted Anupam Kher with a message on Twitter. “It is wonderful to see audiences back in theaters in large numbers to hear absolutely incredible things about your performance in #TheKashmirFiles @AnupamPKher. Hope to see the film soon. Jai Ambe.” Akshay had tweeted. Paresh Rawal also praised Anupam.
The Kashmir Files has been performing well at the box office since its release. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed that the film saw a huge jump in the box office collections on Sunday. “#TheKashmirFiles shows phenomenal growth… grows 325.35% on third day [vis-à-vis Day 1], new record… Metro + Mass Belt, Multiplex + Single Screen, *Early Weekend Biz* very good across the board… Fri 3.55 Cr, Shani 8.50 Cr, Surya 15.10 Cr. Total: ₹ 27.15 Cr. #BharatBiz,” he tweeted.
Written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, The Kashmir Files is a true story based on video interviews of the first generation victims of the Kashmir genocide of the Kashmiri Pandit community. It is a heart-wrenching narrative of the pain, suffering, struggle and trauma of Kashmiri Pandits and questions eye-opening facts about democracy, religion, politics and humanity. The film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi and Chinmay Mandlekar.
