During the relief operation in the Deoghar accident, a Garuda commando of the Air Force spent Monday night with two children in a trolley hanging in the air, so that the children would not be scared in the air alone. In view of the panic situation, the commandos themselves went ahead and took this decision. As soon as the campaign started on Tuesday morning, he brought these children out safely.

These children were hanging in the air on the trolley since 4 pm on Sunday. On Monday, after a day-long rescue operation, the IAF halted the operation overnight. Then this commando decided not to leave these children alone even after repeated calls from their comrades. The commando said, he cannot leave the badly frightened children upstairs alone. This decision of the commandos was welcomed by all.

High Court took cognizance and ordered for investigation
Taking suo motu cognizance of the ropeway accident, the Jharkhand High Court has ordered an inquiry into the incident. The court will hear the matter on April 26, till then the government has been directed to present the detailed investigation report in the court.

Conduct safety audit of all state ropeway projects: Home Ministry
After the ropeway accident in Deoghar, the central government has become alert. In order to avoid such incidents in future, the Union Home Ministry has issued instructions to all the states to conduct a safety audit of the ropeway projects being run by them. Apart from this, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has also been asked to be prepared to deal with the situation of such incidents.

Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla wrote in a letter to the Chief Secretaries of all the states, a maintenance manual should be prepared for all ropeway projects. Special attention should be paid to safety standards and they should be in line with best industry practices. The company operating the ropeway shall maintain a complete record of the activities carried out as a maintenance program.

Announcement to give five lakh compensation
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in a high-level meeting on Tuesday decided to give a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the dependents of those killed in the ropeway accident and Lohardaga violence. He also directed to constitute a committee to investigate the ropeway accident.
