Dentists suffered a lot during the COVID-19 pandemic: Dr Tarek Burezki

According to a report by Clove Dental, the Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a dramatic drop in dental appointments across India.

As per the pan-India data, the total number of patient visits in the first quarter of the pandemic in June 2020 was 9,549, down from 45,979 in June 2019. Similarly, it was 13,784 in July 2020 and 23,591 in October 2020.

As per the report, the decline was attributed to Covid-19. Due to a reduction in patient visits to dental clinics, preventive treatment has decreased by 63.7 percent due to the pandemic.

The government published monthly guidance for dentists during the pandemic, initially suspending all except emergency procedures and then switching to protective measures.
