Today, that is, on 26 October, 11 months are being completed for the farmers’ movement against the three agricultural laws on the four borders of Delhi, including Ghazipur. There have been 11 rounds of talks between the government and the farmers, which are in vain. The demand for repeal of the law remains the same. In this episode, farmers across the country will protest against the dismissal of Ajay Mishra alias Teni, the father of Lakhimpur violence accused and Minister of State for Home. There will be meetings at the Delhi border. A memorandum will be sent to President Ram Nath Kovind on behalf of the Kisan Morcha.
More than 605 farmers associated with the movement have died in 11 months. Elections are near in UP, Uttarakhand, Punjab. In such a situation, this farmer’s movement can now become the neck of the government. The government has not held any talks with the farmers since 22 January 2021.

Rakesh Tikait will be present at Ghazipur border
The media in-charge of the United Kisan Morcha (UP) Chandrapal Singh said that the farmers’ movement will have demonstrations across the country at district headquarters and tehsils between 11 am and 2 pm. There will also be dharnas at some police stations. BKU spokesperson Rakesh Tikait and All India Kisan Sabha President Ashok Dhawale will be present at the Ghazipur border.
There will also be meetings at Singhu, Tikri and Shahjahanpur border including Ghazipur. The memorandum addressed to the President will be given to the officers. Similar memoranda will be given in all districts and tehsils. The draft of the memorandum has been sent by the United Kisan Morcha.
Along with the agitation, the farmers’ entertainment is also going on. They were playing Kabaddi in the middle of a dharna on the Ghazipur border.
These are the main demands of the farmers
- Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Teni, accused of Lakhimpur Kheri incident, should be dismissed and arrested.
- All three agricultural laws should be returned.
- The Minimum Support Price should be given the status of law.
- Due to unseasonal rains and floods across the country, farmers have suffered huge losses in the crops of paddy, pulses, sesame, potato etc. Farmers should be fully compensated for the loss.
- Farmers across the country need manure for sowing crops, but farmers across the country are in queue for manure. They should be provided with manure.
Main roads to the protest site are closed due to police barricading and farmers’ tents. It did not open even after the displeasure of the Supreme Court. This is causing trouble to the common people.

Lakhs of people are facing the brunt of this movement every day. The main roads of the four borders of Delhi have been closed for 11 months. There are tents of farmers on the roads. People have to travel many kilometers more and go towards the destination. The Supreme Court has also expressed displeasure over this. However, farmers say that they did not stop the road. Delhi Police has put up barricades.
Sometimes the movement was disputed
- Violence took place at many places during the tractor parade in Delhi on 26 January 2021. The religious flag was hoisted at the Red Fort. 59 cases were registered in the violence. 158 farmers were arrested.
