Vadodara : Self Financed School Management Association (SFSMA) submitted a memorandum to the District Education Officer (DEO) on Monday Gujarat The government may allow the reopening of schools from classes 9 to 12.
The state level body of SFSMA had appealed to its members to submit such memorandum to the concerned DEO. More than 100 representatives, office bearers and members of private school management submitted memorandum in Vadodara Vadodara DEO in Karelibagh.
The memorandum said that the state government had given green signal to reopen coaching classes, government schools, religious places as per standard operating procedures (SOPs) but classes for 9-12 students in self-financed schools. There is no demand to reopen. in mind.
“Students are missing out on interacting with peers and teachers. There is also a learning gap. We have to test the effectiveness of online learning for which schools need to be reopened. If one is looking at the risk factors, then there is also a risk in opening swimming pools and cinema halls,” said educationist Tejal Amin.
“Compared to coaching classes, schools have bigger rooms with proper air circulation. Why can’t self-financing schools be allowed to reopen for classes 9-12? If ‘Sheri Shalas’ can be reopened, why can’t self-financing schools reopen?” questioned Utpal Shah, president of the Vadodara region of SFSMA.
The SFSMA has threatened to intensify its agitation and even stop online education if its demand is not met. The memorandum states that most of the state governments have prepared a roadmap for the reopening of schools.
