IGI Airport overtook China’s Guangzhou Airport in March. The Chinese airport is currently the fourth busiest airport in the world.
After a few years due to COVID-19, the travel sector around the world is showing hopeful signs of steady recovery. We say this because the Official Airline Guide (OAG) recently revealed the list of the top 10 busiest airports in March 2022, highlighting the traffic recovery of many international airports. The list included airports that retrieved their rankings. India has something to cheer as Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport has climbed up six places to take the third spot on the list.

Once again Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is the busiest airport in the world, taking the top spot after falling to second place in 2020 when the pandemic hit the world. Dubai International Airport is in second place. Yet the United States continued to dominate the list of the world’s busiest airports, as its five airports accounted for more than half of March’s top 10.
Dallas and Denver grabbed everyone’s attention as they moved up from their pre-pandemic status in 2019 from 16th and 21st places to 11th and 14th respectively. This upgrade of US airports came at the cost of some Asian airports losing their presence in the top 10 list as some of the major international airports of 2019 such as Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai fell from their previous positions.
This was apparently a result of travel restrictions due to COVID. The good news for the Japanese is that Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport has re-entered the list of the top 10 busiest airports, and is now ranked ninth, ahead of London’s Heathrow Airport, which has moved up 8 places. is to go. 10th place for the first time this year.
