New Delhi: Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana held a meeting with top officials here on Saturday and discussed anti-terrorist measures in the wake of inputs of a terror attack in the national capital during the festive season.
They also discussed how to stop the terrorists from taking the support of the local people.
In the meeting, Asthana told that information about terrorist attack has been received in Delhi.
However, he said that unless the attackers get local support, no such attack can happen. “Local criminals, gangsters and conservative elements can help in this type of attack,” he said.
“Cyber cafes, chemical shops, parking lots, junk and car dealers should be professionally investigated and monitored. There are inputs that petrol pumps and petrol tankers may be targeted,” the police commissioner said.
He also directed to launch a campaign for verification of tenants and workers.
With focus on community policing, the police will also hold meetings with RWAs, Aman Samiti and coordinate with stakeholders of the ‘Aankh Aur Kaan Yojna’ such as street vendors and chowkidars.
