Delhi police issues Traffic Advisory as Yamuna flows over danger mark

New Delhi: In view of the rise in the water level of the Yamuna, the Delhi Traffic Police on Wednesday issued an advisory stating that traffic has been affected in several areas of the national capital, including the Outer Ring Road.

In the advisory, the Delhi Traffic Police said that due to incessant rains in Delhi and surrounding areas, the water level of Yamuna has increased. Giving details about the areas where traffic movement is restricted, it said in view of water level in Yamuna reaching the danger mark of 207.5 metres, Outer Ring Road between Wazirabad Bridge and Vikas Marg and Kalighat will be closed. In case of flood around ISBT Kashmere Gate, buses coming from Ghaziabad side will be terminated near Seelampur Metro Station and Pushta Road.

The traffic coming from Wazirabad Bridge towards Majnu Ka Tila will be diverted towards Mukarba Chowk. Traffic coming from Boulevard Road towards ISBT will be diverted towards Shamnath Marg and Mahatma Gandhi Marg.

In view of the high alert issued by the administration, commuters are advised to postpone travel plans to low-lying areas and in case of unavoidable travel, the above-mentioned roads should be kept out of travel plans.
