Delhi Kanjhawala case: ‘Anjali was SCREAMING, car occupants knew she was stuck under wheels,’ recalls victim’s friend

new Delhi: The friend of a 20-year-old Delhi woman who died after being hit by a car and dragged for several miles on the night of December 31, has claimed that the driver and other occupants of the vehicle were fully aware of the incident and the wheels were After coming down, the sound of his shouting was also heard. Anjali was on a scooty with her friend Nidhi when the two-wheeler collided with a Maruti Baleno car when both were returning home. Due to the impact, Nidhi was thrown from the pillion seat, while Anjali was trapped under the car and dragged for several kilometres, eventually resulting in her painful death.

“After the collision, Anjali went under the car and I fell on the ground. The car did not stop and moved on with Anjali shouting for help. A few meters away, the car stopped. They (car occupants) could Realized something was stuck under the car and they turned around… again pushed the car twice… and then left,” recalled Nidhi, an eyewitness to the incident.



“… there was no music playing in the car. They did it intentionally, and they knew he was under the car. My house is not far from the accident site. When I arrived home, I was scared and disappointed … I told my mother about the incident,” Nidhi said.


Police officials said that Nidhi – who is a key witness in the case – today recorded her statement in the presence of a magistrate. Earlier, the police had also recovered the CCTV footage installed outside the Oyo Hotel, where the victim and Nidhi were seen arguing on December 31, 2022, before the incident.

“We were coming home after the party. She was a bit drunk, I asked her to hand over the scooty keys, but she wanted to drive. We were arguing about who would drive the scooty,” Nidhi Said, who also suffered minor injuries on his left hand in the incident

According to sources, the accused drove the car for 90 minutes and Anjali got trapped under it. Police have arrested five people who were in the car at the time of the incident. They have been identified as Deepak Khanna, Amit Khanna, Krishna, Mithu and Manoj Mittal.

Amit (25) works with SBI Cards in Uttam Nagar, Krishna (27) works at the Spanish Culture Centre, Mithu (26) is a hairdresser in Naraina, while Manoj Mittal (27) is a ration dealer in Sultanpuri who is also a BJP member. He is a worker.
