Reviewing the projects with senior officials of the PWD and other concerned departments, Sisodia said the city’s infrastructure, health and education have been top priorities of the Delhi government.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday said that the Delhi government has implemented 77 major infrastructure projects of the education, health and public works departments in the last five years.

Reviewing the projects with senior officials of the PWD and other concerned departments, Sisodia said the city’s infrastructure, health and education have been top priorities of the Delhi government.

The projects include construction of over 20,000 classrooms, new sports complexes, hostels for students, hospitals with state-of-the-art facilities, six new and two double-decker flyovers, two new university campuses, installation of over two lakh CCTVs. cameras, road beautification, installation of 500 flags and signature bridge at Wazirabad.

“After coming to power, the priority of the Delhi government has been to provide the best infrastructure, education and health facilities to the citizens. Delhi being a national capital deserves the best of urban infrastructure. Previous governments had neglected it but Arvind Kejriwal made it his priority.

He said that out of 77 projects, 26, costing Rs 8,683.81 crore, have been approved for the education sector in the last five years.

“The Delhi government is also constructing two new campuses of Ambedkar University at Rohini and Dheerpur. for training and technical Education (TTE), Government has constructed many new academic blocks and hostels in many technical universities. Most of these projects have either been completed or are currently underway.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Delhi government has approved 25 major infrastructure projects in the health sector in the last five years and the hospital bed capacity will be increased by 20,000.

“In the health sector, the Delhi government approved 25 major projects at a cost of Rs 4,452.72 crore which include construction of various new hospitals and intensive care units. Road infrastructure has been given a boost with 26 projects worth Rs 6,409.33 crore,” he said.

In PWD, the Delhi government has approved 26 major projects at a cost of Rs 6,409.33 crore, which include streetscaping projects in pilot phase, construction of double-decker flyover between Bhajanpura-Yamuna Vihar and Azadpur-Rani Jhansi Road.

It also includes flyovers at Shastri Park, Asharam to DND Flyway, ANVT to Apsara Border, Nagri and Gagan Cinema Junction and elevated corridor at Loni Chowk.

“…besides these, there are various corridor development projects including Ashram Chowk underpass and several other underpasses across the city, various bridges, subways, installation of nearly two lakh CCTV cameras, free Wi-Fi and installation of 500 tricolors across the city. ,” They said.
