Delhi government extends the deadline for nursery admissions in private schools

New Delhi: Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Thursday that the Delhi government has extended by two weeks the application deadline for admission to nursery in private schools in view of the rapid increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the national capital.

He tweeted, ‘Keeping in view the current situation of Kovid, the last date for admission to nursery and entry level classes in private schools in Delhi is being extended by two weeks.

Sisodia’s remarks come as January 7 is the last date to apply for admission to entry-level classes in private schools in Delhi.

However, a formal order to this effect has not yet been issued by the Delhi Education Department.

The process of admission to nursery classes in private schools in Delhi had earlier started from December 15.

The Directorate of Education had earlier notified the admission schedule in November last year.

According to the notification issued earlier by the Directorate of Education, the details of the students who applied for the school for admission under the open seats will be uploaded on January 21, which has also made it optional for the parents to buy the prospectus.

The first list of selected students will be uploaded on February 4, the second list on February 21 and the next list will be displayed by March 15.

According to the program released earlier by the Directorate of Education, the admission process is to be closed on March 31.
