New Delhi: The Delhi government on Wednesday declared August 20 as a ‘public holiday’.muharram‘.
City government Department of General Adminstration (GAD) previously declared muharram holiday on August 19 (Thursday), but it was changed to Friday after the decision of the central government in this regard.
“Government of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and PensionsThe Muharram holiday has been modified from Thursday to Friday.
“Accordingly, Friday (August 20, 2021) has been declared as a holiday for all government offices on account of Muharram. Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi,” said an order issued by the city government.
