Delhi government announces night curfew from Monday, rise in Covid-19 cases: Check timings here

According to a health bulletin issued by the health department, Delhi on Sunday reported 290 fresh Covid-19 cases, and one death.

The Delhi government on Sunday announced that night curfew will be imposed in the national capital from 11 pm to 5 am in view of the unabated rise in the number of COVID-19 cases. Night curfew order will be issued on Monday morning. Night curfew will come into effect from December 27.

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) recently extended its COVID restrictions, such as a ban on social and cultural gatherings and a ban on bars and restaurants, to operate with 50 per cent seating capacity till December 31 midnight.

The DDMA order states that the existing permitted and prohibited activities will continue on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1. Political, social, cultural, religious and other similar gatherings are not allowed.

Meanwhile, according to a health bulletin issued by the health department, Delhi on Sunday reported 290 fresh Covid-19 cases, and one death. On Saturday, 249 new cases of coronavirus were reported in the national capital.

With this, the cumulative tally rose to 14,43,352, while the death toll rose to 25,105. The number of active cases is 1,103, of which 583 patients are in home isolation.

The announcement comes amid a spurt in the number of omicron cases in the country.
