The priority section will have five stations – Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai and Duhai Depot – and will be operational by early June, ahead of its estimated time. NCRTC is targeting to open the entire Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor for public use by 2025, followed by RRTS services on other routes including Delhi-Karnal, Delhi-Alwar.

The rapid rail system will deploy modern metro trainsets manufactured by Alstom with features such as Wi-Fi, automatic gates, among other features similar to urban train networks in European countries. NCRTC is harnessing green energy by installing solar panels at stations and depots as well as using mixed power in traction, which is planned to be scaled up progressively.

According to NCRTC, ‘RAPIDX’ will connect people who prefer to live in their hometown in the National Capital Region (NCR), with Delhi through modern, sustainable, convenient, fast, safe and comfortable means of travel, officials said. Said.

The ‘RapidX’ services on the first Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor will significantly reduce the travel time between Delhi and Meerut.
