Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal performs Ganesh Chaturthi puja on banks of Yamuna | Delhi News – Times of India

New Delhi: Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal with wife Sunita Kejriwal and cabinet ministers demonstrated Ganesh Chaturthi Puja on the banks of river Yamuna near Signature Bridge where the Delhi government organized a grand ceremony, which was telecast live on all major TV channels and social media platforms.
Earlier in the day, the CM appealed to everyone to attend the program which is being broadcast live on various channels through TV and worship Lord Ganesha at their homes with their families.
Popular singers Shankar Mahadevan and Suresh Wadkar enthralled everyone with their performances on the occasion. Kejriwal said that everyone should tell their children about the glorious history of Ganesh Chaturthi festival in India and inculcate a mixture of spirituality and patriotism in them.
The program started at 7 pm and the ‘pandal’ was decorated in such a way that the zeal, beauty and divinity were displayed. Kejriwal and his wife ceremonially installed an idol of Lord Ganesha and offered prayers while the priests chanted mantras.
During the program Deputy CM Manish Sisodia with his wife, Environment Minister Gopal Rai, Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot, Food Minister Imran Hussain, Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam, Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel and others were present.
Singers Suresh Wadkar and Padma Wadkar sang Ganesh Aarti. NS’Maha Aarti‘ There was a performance with Suresh Wadkar and 21 priests in which all took part. In the end, Suresh Wadkar and Padma Wadkar gave the final performance with 30 dancers.
Kejriwal extended his warm wishes to all the people of the country as well as the citizens of Delhi on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi and said, “I pray that Lord Ganpati bestows happiness, prosperity and peace in everyone’s life. Our revered freedom fighters Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak celebrated Ganeshotsav publicly for the first time in Pune. Later, his efforts helped in starting a movement. This Ganeshotsav played an important role in uniting people in the freedom movement.
He said that Ganesh Chaturthi is a way of gathering the people of the country and instilling in them the feeling of patriotism. “They came together and worshiped Lord Ganesha and fought together for the freedom of our country. We all should educate our children about this special blend of spirituality and patriotism. We all should inculcate the spirit of spirituality and patriotism in our children,” Kejriwal said.
