The engine of SpiceJet’s flight from Patna to Delhi caught fire.
The engine of a SpiceJet aircraft caught fire after it took off from Patna to Delhi on Sunday. Flight SG723 carrying 185 passengers landed safely just after takeoff.
All the passengers are said to be safe. However, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
“The Delhi-bound SpiceJet flight returned to Patna airport after an engine failure in the aircraft,” an airport official said.

Patna District Magistrate (DM) Chandrashekhar Singh said the locals noticed the fire in the plane and after informing the district and airport authorities, the flight to Delhi returned to Patna airport.

“All 185 passengers disembarked safely. The reason is technical glitch, engineering team is doing further analysis,” the DM said.
