Delhi-bound Indigo flight hit by bird after takeoff, returns to Guwahati

Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) officials said the aircraft (VT-SYZ), prima facie, was involved in an air turnback after the cabin crew had informed the PIC about sparks emanating from the engine. During rotation, the cockpit crew suspected a bird hit on the engine. Later, the crew noticed no abnormalities and the flight resumed climb. “The flight returned after being hit by a bird and with one engine shut in the air, all passengers on board were safe,” officials said.

A Delhi-bound SpiceJet plane made an emergency landing at Patna airport on Sunday afternoon after a technical snag was reported, which led to a fire inside the plane. All the passengers have been rescued safely.
