Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday inaugurated India’s first smog tower at Baba Kharak Singh Marg in Connaught Place area – Twitter/Aam Aadmi Party

“Delhi’s first smog tower was put up by Gautam Gambhir in 2020. CM Kejriwal has mastered lying. Stop misleading people, they know all your dirty tricks. You are a credit seeker, rest you have done for Delhiites. Have done nothing for you. Wake up. Above sleep!” BJP’s Delhi unit said in a tweet.
Inaugurating a smog tower at Connaught Place on Monday, Kejriwal said that it is India’s first smog tower.
“To fight pollution, we have established India’s first smog tower in delhi Today. This technology is imported from America. It is a 24 meter tall tower, which will clean the air within a radius of one kilometer, draw air from above and release it from below and emit 1000 square meters per second.
BJP shared a picture of Gautam Gambhir with the first of its kind 20ft air purifier.
It said the air purifier treats 2,40,000 – 6,00,000 cubic meters of air per day.
The BJP MP had said in November 2020 that the third air purifier of East Delhi has been installed.
“Work has to be seen, lies have to be shown. East Delhi’s third air purifier! Everyone’s right to clean air!” He tweeted in Hindi.
The claim and counter-claim sparked a political controversy on Twitter, with netizens actively debating and taking sides.
One Twitter user said, “The entire party is full of liars. Aam Aadmi Party or false Aadmi Party.”
Another user called the Chief Minister “pathetic”.
However, an AAP supporter said, “It is a toy worth Rs 5 lakh, not a smog tower.”
“Just because Gautam Gambhir decided to call his toy air purifier a smog tower, doesn’t mean everyone can be fooled,” he said.
There is widespread concern about the level of pollution in Delhi.
