Delhi-Bhubaneswar Vistara flight suffers hydraulic system failure, DGCA to probe incident

According to sources, a Bhubaneswar-bound Vistara aircraft returned to the national capital on Monday after encountering a hydraulic system problem and aviation watchdog DGCA is probing the incident. Sources said around 140 passengers were on board the aircraft and it landed safely at the Delhi airport.

Vistara’s A320 aircraft VT-TNV, operating flight UK-781 from Delhi to Bhubaneshwar, was involved in turning back due to hydraulic system problem. A senior DGCA official said the aircraft made a priority landing at the Delhi airport.

The official said that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will investigate the incident. A Vistara spokesperson said in a statement that a minor technical snag was detected soon after take-off.

“As a precautionary measure, the pilots decided to turn back and the aircraft landed safely at Delhi’s IGI airport. An alternate flight has been arranged immediately, which will depart soon,” the spokesperson said.
