Delhi: “Beside every successful man, there is a woman”, President Murmu at AWWA event

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu on Monday applauded ‘Nari Shakti’, stating that women have achieved great heights in several fields ranging from “missile to music” as they have overpowered several hardships.

President Murmu was speaking at an event organised by the Army Wives Welfare Association ) at the Manekshaw Centre, Delhi Cantt.

“I extend my gratitude to all ‘Veer Naris’ for their contribution and praise the efforts of the AWWA,” the president stated.

In the event, an entrepreneur who was married to an army man and a teacher belonging to Jharkhand, who is a ‘Veer Nari’, shared gritty and sorrowful tales of their lives. The ‘Veer Shakti’ while speaking at the event also shared about how they battled every odd with their sheer determination and spirit of resilience.

President hailed women’s participation

President Murmu calling them Nari Shakti said, “We heard painful stories of two women, we should rather say, two stories of grit and determination today… it sent chills down the spine.”

Adding further, President Murmu reflected her thoughts by saying “Beside every successful man, there is a woman.”

Praising ‘Nari Shakti’, she highlighted the contributions made by women of today towards society’s growth and the nation at large.

Prior to addressing the event, President Murmu was given a tour of several stalls set up by the members of the association, promoting self-reliance, and entrepreneurship for empowering women.

Talking about contributions made by women, she said that from missiles to music, women have conquered great heights, facing and overpowering all odds.

Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) President Archana Pande, while addressing, hailed President Murmu for her accomplishments and stated that the president herself “exemplified ‘Nari Shakti’.”

Sudesh Dhankar, spouse of Vice President Jagdeeo Dhankar and Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakshi Lekhi was also present at the event.
