Delhi Airport: Police Arrests Man For False Bomb Claim, Was Agitated With Security Check

Delhi Police has arrested a man for making a false claim of bomb at Delhi International Airport during SLPC security check. The man, who was scheduled to depart Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on a GoFirst flight, became extremely agitated during the security check, even as he informed the airline staff that his There is a bomb in the bag. , The incident took place on April 11 when the man, identified as Shiva, was to take a GoFirst flight (G8-157) to Bagdogra in West Bengal.

As per reports, the man was waiting to board a bus that takes passengers to aircraft where aerobridges are not available, mostly through Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 of the Delhi airport. As per BCAS, Secondary Ladder Point Security (SLPC) is to be done by the airlines for additional security measures. The person was asked for SLPC checking of his hand baggage by GoFirst ground staff.

According to a complaint lodged by the airline staff, when he was asked to open his bag for the mandatory secondary stair point check, Shiva became agitated and told them that there was a bomb inside his bag. The airline staff then followed standard procedure and prevented Shiva from boarding the flight.

“The passenger was politely asked by the airline staff whether he was carrying any prohibited item, but he became more agitated and claimed that he had a bomb in his bag,” the FIR said. CISF personnel were informed and when they approached the passenger, they allegedly continued to create ruckus and even threatened the airline staff with sacking.

“The passenger was offloaded along with his check-in luggage and was taken to the local police station,” the complaint said. The police then started investigating the incident by registering a case against the accused passenger.
