Delhi: 23-Year-Old Nikki Yadav Captured on CCTV Hours Before Murder by Boyfriend

New Delhi: Police on Wednesday obtained footage from a CCTV camera installed at Nikki Yadav’s Uttam Nagar house and it shows the 23-year-old girl doing odd jobs hours before she was allegedly killed by her boyfriend. This footage is of February 9, the day of her boyfriend Sahil Gehlot’s engagement. Yadav reportedly called to meet Gehlot and express his displeasure over his decision to marry.


The first footage, which has a timestamp of 1.10 pm, shows Yadav carrying clothes upstairs in his rented house. The second footage, timestamped at 9.27 pm, shows him peering out of a door of his rented house before leaving the premises. She is seen returning within a minute.

“We are going through the CCTV footage and scanning it to collect evidence and also to ascertain the sequence of events that unfolded on the day of the murder,” a senior police officer said.

The incident came to light on Valentine’s Day and Yadav’s body was recovered on Tuesday morning from the refrigerator of the eatery, which was locked since the day of the murder, four days after the murder at the instance of the accused.

Police say that the accused had hidden from his girlfriend that his marriage had been fixed with another woman. When Yadav came to know about the marriage, he had a heated argument with Gehlot which led to his murder.

“It has been claimed that she was threatening to implicate the man in case he marries another woman,” said a source.

Police said the couple was in a relationship for the last few years and Yadav wanted to marry the accused.

A senior police officer said the alleged murder took place on the intervening night of February 9 and 10 when the victim spoke to the accused about her marriage. body in the refrigerator.

Narrating the development, the official said that Yadav was unhappy that Gehlot was getting married. On February 9 – the day the accused got engaged – he called her and asked her to come to his flat in Uttam Nagar.

Police suspect that the accused committed the crime near Kashmere Gate, but the location of the murder is yet to be ascertained.

Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Singh Yadav said that on February 10, secret information was received that a man named Sahil Gehlot had killed his girlfriend and married another girl on the same day.
