Deepti Sharma’s 3-11, Jemimah Rodrigues (42) and Harmanpreet Kaur (32) took India to victory

Three wickets from spinner Deepti Sharma and two wickets from Pooja Vastrakar restricted the West Indies to 94 for six. India Won the last match of the Women’s T20 tri-series by eight wickets here on Monday.

With Deepti Sharma claiming 3-11 from her four overs and Pooja taking 2-19, Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur shared an unbeaten 54-run partnership to help India post 94/5 in 13.5 overs.

It was a brilliant performance by the Indian bowlers as the Indian bowlers gave a tough fight to the West Indies women.

Rajeshwari Gaikwad claimed 1-9 from her four overs and Renuka Singh conceded only 22 runs from her four overs as the West Indies batsmen failed to score runs.

Roar West Indies women, opener and captain Hayley Mathews top-scored with a run-a-ball 34, hitting five fours.

But her opening partner Rashda Williams was bowled by Deepti Sharma for eight runs in 12 balls as the West Indies lost their first wicket for 18 runs. He claimed the wicket of Shemaine Campbell in the next ball and claimed two wickets in two balls.

Jada James scored 21 runs from 31 balls at the end of the innings, hitting two sixes in the process as West Indies could only manage 94/6 in their 20 overs.

Chasing a small target, India lost Smriti Mandhana early for five runs and the score was reduced to eight runs in the second over.

However, fellow opener Jemimah Rodrigues scored an unbeaten 42 off 39 balls studded with five fours, while skipper Harmanpreet Kaur scored an unbeaten 32 off 23 balls. India scored 95/2 in 13.5 overs and won by eight wickets with 37 balls to spare.

India and hosts South Africa have already made it to the final of the series to be played on Thursday.

With this dominant performance, India remained undefeated in the tri-series, while the West Indies lost all their matches prior to the T20I World cup. West Indies Women do not have any T20I matches since September 2022.
