Deepika Padukone’s ex Siddharth Mallya praises her for her mental health work

Actress Deepika Padukone The businessman was in a relationship with Vijay Mallya’s son Siddharth Mallya when she was the ambassador of Royal Challengers Bangalore. Recently, Siddharth, who turned author with his memoir If I’m Honest, spoke about his struggle with mental health issues. He also praised Deepika, who has founded the Live Laugh Love Foundation to destroy and help people with mental health issues.

Speaking to Times of India, Siddharth said, “I think the work he and everyone else does in India is amazing. There are not enough people talking about mental health. The fact that people like him use his platform to promote mental health, and I think we can get more people to talk about mental health—be it writing books, Celebs or just grassroots or teachers talking about it in school to kids or families talking about it – better for everyone.”

He also told about his own struggles that it started in 2015-16 but before that he was not aware of many things. He said that he was not talking to anyone about mental health.

Recently Deepika opened up about her struggle with depression during her appearance in Kaun Banega Crorepati opposite Farah Khan. He told host Amitabh Bachchan, “Sir, I had depression in 2014. I later founded a mental health organization through which we try to stigmatize mental illness and create awareness about mental health … I didn’t feel like going to work, I didn’t feel like meeting anyone. I didn’t go out. I didn’t feel like doing anything. Many times, and I don’t know whether I should say it or not No, but I didn’t feel like living anymore.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika will star in Kabir Khan’s ’83 opposite Ranveer Singh. She also has Shakun Batra’s untitled film in her kitty in which she will be seen alongside Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi. She will also be seen in Siddharth Anand’s Fighter in which she will star opposite Hrithik Roshan. The star will be reuniting with Shah Rukh Khan in Pathan, which will also feature John Abraham in the lead. He also has The Intern remake with Amitabh Bachchan in the pipeline.
