New Delhi: By now it is clear that Deepika Padukone plays a spy in `Pathan` and she has been paired opposite Shah Rukh Khan, who plays a spy with a license to kill, in the adrenaline-pumping action entertainer . While Deepika looks drop-dead gorgeous in the songs of the film, which have become instant chartbusters, she looks incredibly sassy as a gun-toting detective in ‘Pathan’.
Recently, `Pathan` director Siddharth Anand revealed that Deepika has done an amazing solo action sequence in the film in which she has used the infamous Gatling Gun!
Siddharth said, “There is nothing more cool or sexy than a woman wielding a powerful weapon on screen. As a film lover, I have always loved women in sick action sequences and hence, when we got to see Pathan Deepika Padukone, we wanted to present her in her most badass self – a gorgeous, gun-toting, femme fatale spy the public has never seen before!”
He further added, “In one of Pathan’s action sequences, Deepika uses the Gatling gun and you have to see the sequence to believe how legit she is as a real action superstar! She steals the show in this scene.” And I am sure people will be cheering for her the loudest whenever she does action in Pathan.”
Earlier, talking about Deepika and her influence in the film, Shah Rukh said, “You need someone of Deepika’s stature to do a song sequence like Besharam Rang and then you know, to do action. To be able to, where she takes a guy and pulls him over and thrashes him, she’s tough enough to do that. That kind of combination could only be achieved with someone like Deepika. It’s quite a layered character for an action film heroine so to speak.”
Recently the trailer of ‘Pathan’ was screened at the grand Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
‘Pathan’ is a part of Aditya Chopra’s ambitious spy universe and stars country’s biggest superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. The film also stars Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana in key roles.
It is set to release on January 25, 2023 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
