The Wedding Filmer has videographed several celebrity weddings like Kiara Advani-Sidharth Malhotra and Vicky Kaushal-Katrina Kaif among others.

Filmmaker Vishal Punjabi, also known as The Wedding Filmer, is currently under the spotlight after sharing some anecdotes from big celebrity weddings. Vishal has videographed several high-profile couples for their weddings. He has worked with Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, Kiara Advani and Siddharth Malhotra, and Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli to name a few. Which wedding was the most fun to shoot? Vishal told Brut a few months ago.

When asked which celebrity wedding was the most fun to shoot, Vishal said, “One of my favourites would be Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s wedding. It happened in one of my favourite locations, Lake Como. The Italian food, the wine, the weather, the people, I felt very much a part of the family and the wedding itself.”

Vishal recalled that while he was shooting the Kabira song for Deepika and Ranveer Singh’s Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, the actress whispered in his ear and asked him if he would film her wedding one day. Vishal said that years later, the moment came full circle when Deepika messaged him to film her wedding with Ranveer Singh.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh got married on November 14, 2018, amid close family and friends. They are now expecting their first child together. They jointly announced Deepika’s pregnancy on Instagram and shared that the baby is due in September this year.

Meanwhile, in the same conversation, Vishal also spoke about how Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s wedding changed the trend for Indian weddings. He said, “Anushka Sharma’s wedding was the first Bollywood wedding that was released on Instagram and YouTube. When that came out, it went global. The fact that we could make music for a wedding, the fact that a celebrity wedding could be simple yet beautiful and ethereal…”

“Indian weddings didn’t have to be a thousand people, a big festival. That’s what changed the game for Indian weddings. Since then, I’ve seen a drastic shift in bridal entries, in aesthetics, in flowers and even the type of garlands that people use. All have been heavily inspired by Anushka and Virat’s wedding,” he added.

Before he started filming weddings, Vishal worked with Shah Rukh Khan at Red Chillies Entertainment for a decade.
