Fast bowler Deepak Chahar and wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan are expected to join India A team for the upcoming South Africa tour. The team led by young Priyank Panchal has reached Bloemfontein a few days back. The two will reach South Africa after the completion of the ongoing T20I series between India and New Zealand.
Chahar and Kishan are currently in Kolkata for the third and final T20I between India and New Zealand and will fly to South Africa. According to a report in Cricbuzz, the two will assemble in Mumbai on November 24 and take off from there, with pacer Shardul Thakur also likely to join the team later. Shardul is not a part of India’s Test squad for the New Zealand series.

Earlier, the BCCI included Hanuma Vihari in the India A squad after being turned down from the senior team for the New Zealand Test. Vihari’s exit made news as he is not getting a regular place in the team. He last played a Test match for India in January.
Meanwhile, the inclusion of Kishan and Chahar will strengthen the team for three four-day games in Bloemfontein starting on 23 November. The second and third games will begin on November 29 and December 6 respectively.
After Upendra Yadav, Kishan will be the second-choice wicketkeeper in the team and can also bat at the top of the order. While Chahar will bolster the pace-attack which already includes Navdeep Saini, Umran Malik, Ishaan Porel and Arjan Nagwaswala.

For the crucial series, Shitanshu Kotak will be the head coach of the team. While Sairaj Bahule has been appointed as the bowling coach and T Ghosh has been appointed as the fielding coach of the team.
