‘Decisive Factor, High Expectations’: US, France, Leading Economies Laud India as it Takes Over G20 Presidency

as India After taking over the presidency of the G20 on Thursday, several major economies applauded and extended support to New Delhi, which will host nearly 200 meetings of the world’s richest economies in 32 different regions at multiple locations across the country.

The White House said the US is looking forward to supporting India’s G-20 presidency next year.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters, “We look forward to supporting India’s G20 presidency next year on a range of issues, including addressing current food and energy security challenges, while building a resilient global Our efforts to build the economy have to continue.”

“As you have seen, the President has attended, has been attending the G20 during his tenure here. Asked about the President’s visit to India next year, he said, “Nothing specific to announce or any specific details to announce on the visit.”

India will host over 200 meetings at 55 locations. The first G20 meeting will be held in Udaipur in the first week of December when the G20 Sherpa meeting will take place.

German Ambassador Philipp Ackermann said India’s G20 chairmanship would be a decisive factor in resetting the world order. Speaking to reporters in Pune, Ackermann also said that India is now a very important actor on the international stage.

“We will see German ministers and even chancellors coming to India in the coming months. We feel that India is now a very important actor on the international stage. We look forward to Delhi with high hopes and we look forward to the positive impact of Prime Minister Modi’s government over the next 12 months.”

French Ambassador to India Emmanuel Lenain also expressed his country’s full support for India’s G20 chairmanship.

“Today, India assumes the presidency of the G20 for one year and the UNSC (United Nations Security Council) for December. We are happy to see India in the driver’s seat as we strive to keep the world united in the face of unprecedented challenges. India can count on the full support of France,” tweeted French envoy to India Emmanuel Lenain.
