One person is missing since last Sunday. Eventually his body was recovered from a pond. The incident has caused a stir. The incident took place in Jadavpur. The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Kaushik Das. Seeing his body floating yesterday morning, the local people informed the police. Later the police came and took the body in possession and took it for post-mortem. Police is probing whether there is any other reason behind the suicide due to mental depression.
According to family sources, he left the house on Sunday and did not return. After this, the concerned family lodged a missing diary with the Jadavpur police station. On investigation, the police came to know that he was last seen near Jadavpur Layalka Maidan. The police also found his bike there. The bike key was on. Then the police searched a pond next to the field for the whole day on Monday. But Kaushik was not found. Finally, the local people informed the police yesterday morning after seeing a dead body floating in the pond. Police recovered the body and sent it to Baghayatin Government General Hospital. On identifying the dead body there, it was found that the dead body is that of the missing Kaushik. After this the police informed his family members.
It is known that Kaushik is a resident of Vijaygarh. Kaushik used to take a house on rent with his mother and wife. His father was in government service. After his death, the family lived on pension money. After completing his MBA, Kaushik was working in a reputed management company. But, jobs are lost during the lockdown. Due to divorce from his first wife, Kaushik recently got married for the second time. His wife Moumita Das said that her husband was depressed after leaving the job. He used to drink alcohol every day. So the police is probing whether he committed suicide or not. Meanwhile, his mother Tanushree Das is mourning the death of her son.
