The DD National channel, which was a means of entertainment for the people till the 2000s, will no longer be seen on television. Because from October 1, this only channel running on the antenna will be closed. Prasar Bharati has decided to discontinue the analog frequency of DD National from October 1. Now DD National can be seen only through satellite dish. With this, the 55-year-old journey of the antenna will also come to an end. In this regard, Prasar Bharati has issued a letter to all the relay centers running nearby.

Randeep Yadav, in-charge of Doordarshan Relay Center, Narnaul, said that Doordarshan’s programs being broadcast under Terrestrial Transmitter Service will be stopped after 31 October 2021. Viewers will no longer be able to watch this program through antennae. Now all the programs of Doordarshan are available on DD Free Dish to watch. The journey of Doordarshan is 32 years old in Haryana

Doordarshan Kendra was built by Prasar Bharati in Delhi in the 1965s. Until then the era of satellites had not emerged. Analog technology was used to send channel signals to people’s homes. In this technique, channel waves from a center are released into the atmosphere. After that, people used to install antennas on the roof of their homes to catch these waves, which reached the television box. If the range could not reach from the Delhi center to the remote area, then people used to try and rotate the antenna in search of the signal. For this reason, in the year 2000, local relay centers were built at Rewari, Hisar, Kurukshetra. The signal coming from Delhi at these centers was boosted and released in the nearby area, so that people could get better quality. Till the year 2004, DD National and DD Metro used to be the favorite channels of the people running through the antenna. With the advent of the satellite era, the antenna gradually disappeared. Now the antenna was visible only on nominal houses, which will no longer be visible at all.
