A video of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal being molested has surfaced. It is being claimed that an inebriated person is molesting Swati and insisting on making her sit in his car. On refusing, he misbehaves and tries to drag Swati.

On the night of January 18, Swati along with her team was taking stock of the situation of women’s safety on the streets of Delhi. Meanwhile, he was molested near AIIMS Hospital. Swati herself claimed this the next day after the incident. He said that accused Harish Chandra dragged him for about 15 metres. It also said that an Anjali-like incident was about to happen to her, but God saved her.

The accused insists on sitting in the car
The girl seen in the video is being claimed to be Swati Maliwal. The girl’s voice is clear in the video. It is seen that Swati is waiting by the roadside. Just then a car stops near them. The driver asks them to get inside the car. On this Swati says sorry, your voice is not coming.

Driver’s voice is not heard in the video. Swati further says where will you leave me? I have to go home, my relatives are coming and after that the car rider leaves.

After some time he comes back with the car U-turn. Swati then asks the driver, you are the same person I talked to just now, will you drop me? where will you leave me I told you my relatives are coming. It can then be heard in the video that the driver suddenly starts driving the car and Swati screams loudly.

Police arrested the accused, investigation continues
According to the police, the 47-year-old accused is a resident of Sangam Vihar in South Delhi. He has been arrested. He is being interrogated further. Swati Maliwal gave this information to the police at 3 am on January 19.

Swati went out on the streets to check reality, then the incident happened
Swati told a news agency that while she was taking stock of the situation of women’s safety on the streets of Delhi, a drunken car driver approached her. He molested them and made dirty gestures. When Swati went ahead to catch him, he closed the windows of the car. During this, Swati’s hand got stuck in the glass, but the accused did not stop. He kept dragging Swati for about 15 metres.

Swati tweeted on January 19 and informed about the incident that happened to her.

My fate was going to be like that of Anjali – Swati
Swati said that the people of my team were waiting for me at some distance. A team member shouted loudly when he saw me being dragged from the car. Hearing his voice, the accused left me. If he had not left me then the same incident would have happened to me as had happened to Anjali. Questioning the law and order situation in Delhi, Swati said that God has saved my life. If the Chairperson of the Women’s Commission is not safe in Delhi, then what will happen to the general public.

Swati demanded CBI inquiry in Anjali case
On the night of 31 December 2022, Anjali was dragged by a car for about 12 kilometers in Delhi, due to which she died. Swati Maliwal had demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter. He also raised questions on Anjali’s friend Nidhi.

Swati had said that when Anjali had an accident, Nidhi was also with her, but she ran away leaving Anjali in agony. Swati had said that I think it is very important to have an inquiry regarding the fund. All his phone records should be checked. Anjali was crying out, asking for help, but still Nidhi did not help her.

Swati Maliwal had demanded a CBI inquiry in the Anjali case on January 5, Anjali was dragged for 12 km by the accused in a car.

Who is Swati Maliwal?
Swati Maliwal is the chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women since 2015. His tenure has been extended three times in a row. She has written letters to PM on many issues of women harassment. She has opposed this when Ram Rahim came out of jail on parole and has written a letter to the PM demanding amendment in the parole rules.
